Special Equipment

In addition to our quality care and service, Refresh Dental is housed with leading state-of-the-art equipment and the finest in patient facilities to ensure your appointment is efficient and comfortable.

In-chair entertainment

Some procedures you may require can be quite extensive and time consuming. To make you appointment more comfortable and enjoyable we have installed in-chair entertainments systems. You may therefore like to bring in your favourite film or music CD to listen to while having your treatment.

Intra-oral camera

This technically advanced piece of diagnostic equipment allows you to see what we see when examining the inside of your mouth. An overhead monitor enables us to explain in detail exactly what needs to be done to resolve dental problem, such as worn or broken fillings, cracked teeth, plaque deposits and cavities next to fillings. The intra-oral camera handpiece contains a built-in light and tiny video camera with 25 times magnification capabilities, allowing you to be a more active participant in your dental treatment plan, enabling you to make informed treatment decisions.

Digital radiography

A digital radiograph produces up to 90% less radiation than conventional x-rays. Digital x-rays can be viewed almost instantly, as no film processing is required. This allows us to provide you with a more efficient service and our team with a safer working environment as developing chemicals are no longer required.

Happy gas

Happy gas has been successfully used in many areas of medicine as an anaesthetic for many years. It is safe to use on both adults and children with no side effects. Effects wear off only minutes after ceasing inhalation.

Sedation dentistry

Sedation dentistry is used commonly for people who are very anxious or hesitant about being alert during their dental treatment. A sedative is given approximately one hour prior to your procedure to produce a strong sensation of deep relaxation. Unlike a general anaesthetic, you remain conscious, although unaware of your surroundings – most patients will remember very little if anything of their appointment.
